Amen to that. I actually found a person on DA who has completely copied another artist's style. Its not tracing at all- she even livestreams. But I think its kind of creepy how her style is EXACTLY JUST LIKE the one she copied. Everything from coloring, to anatomy, its almost scary. But in the influence map meme she uploaded, she put the person she copied the art style from as her "biggest influence" and its like, dont you mean ur ONLY influence? xD

Well I guess you could say that. But I wouldn't say copying. People are influenced by everything around them and everything that came before. Unless you're talking about looking at some very early cartoons (I'm not sure if I can think of any single person who invented the genre) and copying those directly.

What I meant was it's not copying.. Anime is a genre of art, and even though I myself am not fond of it, other people have their own styles of it. I meant that saying people who draw a type of art are not imitating the "famous" people who do it, they just like the style and decided to develop their own type of it.
