Originality to most of us only means it came from your mind.
What you say is may be true, but all artists ask for is that you don't try to copy or imitate their style as close as you can. If you are inspired by their art, you may take that as a starting point of some sort, but it is asked that people do not try to be EXACTLY like them. (Or something like that.)
yes that may be true and i whole heartedly support that claim but sometimes innovation can come from imitation....but than when the imitation is used for something other than fan work or creation purposes it can get annoying

I don't honestly believe that people take it that far. There are always people who wish to draw like someone, and they sometimes make it that far, but I think they just adapt what they learn to their own style. Most of us develop styles as a hybridization of what we pick up from others, do we not?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
